  • How can the applicant find their primary mortgage account number?Press to expand/collapse

The primary mortgage account number is a 14 digit number that can be found on any post-completion correspondence, including their First Payment letter and their annual statement.

When can a Rate Switch application be submitted?Press to expand/collapse

A Rate Switch application can be created up to four months before the current product expires. This allows the customer to switch three full months before their product end date without incurring any ERCs.

When is the cut-off date for a Rate Switch?Press to expand/collapse

A Rate Switch application and all documents must be submitted at least seven days before month end, for the new rate to take effect at the start of the following month.

What if the Rate Switch application is created but not submitted before month end?Press to expand/collapse

A Rate Switch application must be created and submitted in the same calendar month. If you create a case but don’t submit it until the following month, the application won’t be accepted by the system. You would then need to start a new application.

If the original mortgage application is in the applicant’s maiden name, will the Rate Switch need to be keyed in their maiden name too?Press to expand/collapse

Yes - a Rate Switch application must match the existing mortgage details. If the applicant wants to use their married name on the new application, they should contact us on 0345 835 3380 and follow the change of name process.
